Your choice is an old-world cottage or an ultra-modern villa, both of which have spa facilities and are an excellent place to stay if you want to get to know the historic Richmond district, or drive off to the beach which is just a moderate distance away.
There are two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and one that even has its own spa bath (the bedroom itself, believe it or not). As well as amazing views of the Richmond Valley, you have your own courtyard with barbecue equipment. There is also a sound system and a large television. That’s the villa, but if you prefer the cottage, you have a garden, a real fire in the lounge, double and twin rooms and a complete kitchen which is ready-stocked with all the provisions you need for a hearty country breakfast, to enjoy in the beautiful sandstone and pine surroundings.
Both options at Red Brier Cottage Accommodation are furnished to an exceptionally high standard. There is parking space available, and most guests prefer to travel by car as the remoteness of the properties is part of their attraction. Once you have settled in, a wide range of places of interest can be reached if you fancy a day or half-day trip. For example, there is the town of Richmond itself, with its famous Richmond Bridge which was built just as Britain was entering the railway age.
The Richmond Valley itself is well known for its golf, vineyards and local wines, and all manner of local eateries serving Tasmanian cuisine. Red Brier Cottage Accommodation is not far from the enigmatic Hobart Town Historic Model Village, a different way to find out about the settlers of the 1820s, plus there are at least fifty surviving Georgian buildings in Richmond, some of which are now galleries, cafes and restaurants. Hobart itself is just a twenty-minute drive through pleasant countryside.
Located in Richmond, this cottage is within a 10-minute walk of Richmond Arms Hotel, Richmond Gaol, and Richmond Bridge. Frogmore Creek and Puddleduck Vineyard are also within 6 mi (10 km).
