Day 1 - Explore Launceston

Cataract Gorge is a piece of wilderness just 15 minutes walk from Launceston city center. Here you’ll find many attractions such as the world’s longest single span chairlift.

Day 2 - Launceston to Cradle Mountain

The Tamar Valley has been named one of the world’s top 10 wine routes. Tamar River, 65 km-long runs from Launceston to Bass Strait.

Day 3 - Cradle Mountain to Strahan

Cradle Mountain is a part of – Lake St. Clair National Park – one of 5 parks that form the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage.

Day 4 - Explore Strahan

Gordon River Cruises is an award winning wilderness experience in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

Day 5 - Strahan to Hobart

Queenstown is the largest town on Tasmania’s west coast and was once the world’s richest mining town. The city is surrounded by dramatic hills and mountains.

Day 6 - Explore Hobart

Port Arthur is a major tourist attraction where visitors can explore the haunting landscape and well-preserved, convict-built structures.

Day 7 - Depart Hobart

Visit the Pinnacle Observation Shelter at the top of Mt Wellington for panoramic views of capital city of Tasmania, Hobart.

Day 1 - Explore Launceston

Arrive at Launceston Airport, where you will be able to pickup your rental car. Drive into Launceston and meander around the city, then visit Cataract Gorge for walking trails, a restaurant, swimming pool and even peacocks.

Accommodation: 4 Star – Hotel Verge – Verge King Room, Launceston, or similar

Day 2 - Launceston to Cradle Mountain

Drive through the majestic Tamar Valley and visit Platypus House. Drive from Exeter to Sheffield and stop by Ashgrove Cheese Outlet to sample some of Tasmania’s fine produce. Continue on to our famous Cradle Mountain, for spectacular views and the opportunity to step into the untouched wilderness.

Day 3 - Cradle Mountain to Strahan

Enjoy a couple of morning walks at Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake, you have the option of many short walks including the Enchanted Walk and the Weindorfers Forest Walk or perhaps the longer day walk, the Dove Lake Circuit Track.

In the afternoon drive west to the Murchison Highway and down to the quaint and quiet village of Strahan on the west coast.

Day 4 - Explore Strahan

Enjoy the stunning and award winning Gordon River Cruise – lunch Included.

In the afternoon explore Strahan’s foreshore walks and visit the longest beach in Tasmania, Ocean Beach.

Day 5 - Strahan to Hobart

Drive to Hobart via Queenstown, a town saturated in mining history. Visit “The Wall in the Wilderness” at Derwent Bridge and stop off at Tarraleah Hydro station on the way to Hobart.

Day 6 - Explore Hobart

Take in the Tasman Peninsula with its dramatic coastal cliffs and ocean views. Drive on to Port Arthur to uncover the real story of Tasmania’s convict past. Entry, guided tour & boat excursion an optional add on.
