Day 1 - Arrive in Hobart

Arrive at Hobart Airport, pick up your rental car, and head into the city. In the afternoon, enjoy panoramic views over southern Tasmania from the summit of Mount Wellington.

Day 2 - Explore Port Arthur

Head southeast to the Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur. See the amazing sea cliffs at Eaglehawk Neck and drive on to Port Arthur to get the full story of the convict history of Australia, and particularly Tasmania’s part in it.

Day 3 - Explore Hobart

Take the ferry from Brooke St. Pier in Salamanca Place, up the Derwent River to MONA – The Museum of New and Old Art. This Museum is spectacular: stay for lunch before catching the ferry back to Salamanca.

In the afternoon, take in the Derwent Valley and visit Mt. Field National Park with the stunning Russell Falls and towering trees.

Day 4 - Hobart to Freycinet

Enjoy a scenic afternoon drive from Hobart to Freycinet National Park, travelling up the east coast via Orford and Swansea. Stop to admire the historic church in Buckland, take in the coastal views at Spiky Bridge, and drop by Freycinet Vineyard for a wine tasting before continuing on to your destination.

Day 5 - Explore Freycinet

Take the optional Wineglass Bay Nature Cruise from Coles Bay to visit one of the world’s most beautiful beaches and spot local marine life. In the afternoon, optionally hike to the Wineglass Bay Lookout for breathtaking views over the bay.

Day 6 - Freycinet to Cradle Mountain

Drive from Freycinet to Cradle Mountain, passing through Bicheno before crossing Elephant Pass and continuing through St Marys and the scenic Fingal Valley to join the Heritage Highway. Visit historic sites such as Clarendon House, Brickendon Estate, and the charming village of Evandale. Then travel through bushland and farmland via Deloraine and Mole Creek—where you can stop at the Honey Factory—before arriving at Cradle Mountain.

In the evening, experience the Devils After Dark Feeding Tour to see Tasmania’s iconic devils up close in a unique nocturnal setting.

Day 7 - Cradle Mountain to Launceston

Spend the morning exploring the many walking trails at Cradle Mountain. Then drive through the town of Sheffield, known for its murals, and continue to Elizabeth Town with a stop at the Ashgrove Cheese outlet for local tastings. Travel on to Launceston via the scenic west bank of the Tamar River.

Day 8 - Depart Launceston

Visit Cataract Gorge and explore downtown Launceston before heading to the airport. Return your rental car at Launceston Airport and depart for your flight home.
