Day 1 - Arrive in Hobart

Located at historic Salamanca Place, Salamanca market is a major tourist attraction in Tasmania and attracts thousands of locals and visitors every Saturday.

Day 2 - Hobart to Port Arthur

Port Arthur is a major tourist attraction where visitors can explore the haunting landscape and well-preserved, convict-built structures.

Day 3 - Port Arthur to Freycinet

Tasman Island, located just off the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, is one of Australia’s most significant seabird islands.

Day 4 - Explore Freycinet

Wineglass Bay is part of the Freycinet Peninsula, an outcrop of wild, pristine coast land on Tasmania’s east coast.

Day 5 - Depart Launceston

Bicheno is a beautiful town on the spectacular east coast of Tasmania, cradled between Douglas-Apsley National Park and Freycinet National Park.

Day 1 - Arrive in Hobart

Arrive Hobart Airport. Collect rental car. Explore Richmond, Salamanca Place and Battery Point. Drive up Mount Wellington for views over all of Southern Tasmania.

Accommodation: 3.5 star – Best Western Hobart – King Balcony Room, Hobart, or similar

Optional Accommodation Upgrade: 4 star – The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel, Hobart, or similar

Day 2 - Hobart to Port Arthur

Drive to Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula. As an optional add on, visit Port Arthur Historic Site to find the best presentation of Australia’s convict history. Explore the many other sights in the area such as the spectacular sea-cliffs at Eaglehawk Neck and Devil’s Kitchen.

Accommodation: 3 star – Port Arthur Holiday Park – Waterview Cabin, Port Arthur, or similar

Optional Accommodation Upgrade: 4 star – Stewarts Bay Lodge, Port Arthur or similar

Day 3 - Port Arthur to Freycinet

Take the optional Tasman Island Eco Cruise to incredible sea cliffs, seal colonies, and marine wildlife.

Head up the east coast backroads to Freycinet National Park. See Buckland Church, Spiky Bridge, and call in at the Freycinet Vineyard and the Oyster Farm. At night join in on the optional add on of a penguin watching tour to get close to these adorable animals.

Day 4 - Explore Freycinet

Day at Freycinet. Enjoy the Wineglass Bay Nature Cruise and then walk up to the lookout for views down onto Wineglass Bay.

Optional Accommodation Upgrade: 4 star – Freycinet Lodge, Coles Bay, or similar

Day 5 - Depart Launceston

Drive the backroads to Bicheno, then up the coast to the Elephant Pass. Cross the pass to St. Marys and follow the highway up the Fingal Valley to Macquarie Plains. Follow the Northern Heritage Highway to Evandale and onto Launceston. Drop off car in Launceston.
