Day 1 - Arrive in Hobart

Arrive at Hobart Airport, collect your rental car, and drive into the city. If it’s a Saturday, don’t miss the bustling Salamanca Market. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive up Mount Wellington for sweeping views across southern Tasmania.

Day 2 - Explore Hobart

As an optional add-on, catch a ferry to MONA (Museum of New and Old Art). The Museum is truly spectacular. Stay for lunch among the vines at the adjacent Moorilla Estate. Take the ferry back to Brooke Street Pier at Salamanca Place.

Day 3 - Hobart to Port Arthur

Drive to the beautiful Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur. The sea cliffs at Eaglehawk Neck are truly amazing. Visit Port Arthur Historic Site as an optional add-on, and discover the real story of Australia’s convict past.

Day 4 - Port Arthur to Freycinet

Travel along Tasmania’s sunny east-coast to the Freycinet Peninsula. Stop at the many attractions underway and make this journey at your own pace. Explore Friendly Beaches and Freycinet National Park.

Day 5 - Explore Freycinet

Take the optional cruise to Wineglass Bay during the morning. Spend the afternoon climbing to the the lookout for spectacular views over Wineglass Bay and the Tasman Sea. Drop in and sample the oysters at the Freycinet Marine Farm.

Day 6 - Freycinet to Cradle Mountain

Travel from the Freycinet Peninsula via St. Mary’s inland and follow the Heritage highway through to Launceston. Continue on to the UNESCO World Heritage area of Cradle Mountain. At night, join in an optional informative feeding tour at the local Tasmanian Devil’s sanctuary.

Day 7 - Cradle Mountain to Strahan

Day 8 - Gordon River Cruise

Day 9 - Drive to Hobart

Drive to Hobart through the forests and stop at Queenstown to experience an 1800’s mining town. Continue on to Derwent Bridge (stop at the Derwent Bridge for lunch), see the Wall in the Wilderness and then follow the Derwent Valley into Hobart. Stop off at Mt. Field National Park for a walk in the rainforest out to Russell Falls. Please note, departure flight is not recommended before 5pm.
