With over 70 stallholders, the festival offers visitors a range of seafood, cheeses, berries, cool-climate wines, boutique beers and ciders and much more. The event features exclusive collaborations, free family activities at Kids in the Park and free performances as part of the entertainment program.

Taste of Tasmania

Great food, drinks, art, music and mingling: that’s what the Taste of Tasmania is all about. One of the most popular festivals of the year returns year upon year to the capital of Hobart.

On tap are local artisans, musical talent and the welcoming atmosphere of fun-loving Australia. Visitors and locals alike flock to the festival each year to sample and savour all that Tasmania has to offer and then some. Get together with friends and family for this week-long celebration of hospitality and creativity.

The Taste of Tasmania: Kids in the Park, Tasmania, AustraliaIt’s a family-friendly event, with kids’ activities and play areas set up to keep the younger set busy and satisfied throughout the day. Hobart’s impressive waterfront provides a beautiful backdrop to enjoy daily entertainment, cooking demonstrations, sporting activities and shopping for gifts and one-of-a-kind items. As nighttime sets in, relax and listen to the many sounds of Tasmanian music while gazing at the shimmering sea before the fireworks show. Browse the arts, crafts, jewelry and decorative items made exclusively here and take home a bit of Tasmania while eating and drinking some of the tastiest dishes and refreshing brews this side of the Pacific. There are plenty of delectable desserts on offer as well! Some of the local foods and condiments to sample that are also available for purchase from local businesses include sheep’s milk cheeses and natural yoghurt, flower honey, farm-raised lamb, quail eggs, sea-salted butter, homemade ice creams, berries, saltwater fish, shellfish, smoked paprika, oyster mushrooms and venison. Drinks include locally distilled vodkas and gins, single malt whiskeys, a variety of premier wines, beers, ciders and ginger beers, fruit juices and organic milk. Learn how the attending vendors’ products are made and what makes them uniquely fresh and delightful from Tasmania’s natural locations.

When and Where?

Around the end of December each year, at the Taste of Tasmania, experience the sights, sounds and tastes of lively Tasmania. Held at Princes Wharf, Castray Esplanade (Franklin Wharf) in Hobart, it’s a week that is definitely not to be missed.

Easy bus routes are available (https://moovitapp.com) or you can drive there in 5 minutes from Hobart by way of Murray Street then onto Elizabeth Street. Google maps will show you the way.
