Wellington Studio sleeps two, Sugarloaf Apartment, which is wheelchair-accessible, sleeps five, and the two are interconnected so that they can function as an eight-person, three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. Alternatively there are the Cottages, each of which has two bedrooms, and can sleep five in a queen bed and three singles.
Standard amenities at Taras Richmond Farmstay include a shower, cooking facilities which include all manner of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery, a cooktop, a microwave oven, a fridge, a washing machine, and access to a furnished patio area complete with barbecue equipment. There is also a television, a DVD player and a selection of DVDs for children and adults, as well as free wireless internet.
There are lovely views of the orchard or the garden from your accommodation, and at different times of year there are a variety of farm-based activities you can get involved in if you wish. For a fee you can feed some of the animals, or you can help gather the fruit or eggs.
Taras Richmond Farmstay is close to Richmond, with a number of historic buildings, including the oldest bridge in Australia still to be in continuous use, the Convict Gaol, a bakery, several cafes, and numerous arts and crafts shops. About twenty-five minutes’ drive can take you to Hobart, and Launceston is two hours away. Alternatively, you can stay with the alpacas, sheep, chickens, rabbits, ducks, the farm’s horse or see if you can catch a glimpse of the resident platypus coming out to play.
