Fox and Hounds Inn

Quite a lot of accommodation options are here, mainly divided into motel rooms which are en-suite and villa apartments which are self-contained, but there is also a spa room with a king-size bed and an amazing view! The rooms have either one queen-size or two single beds, all have a view of the water and air conditioning, a television, a sofa and an en-suite bathroom. The apartments have a living room, a dining area, air-conditioning, two sofas and a full kitchen. Up to five people can stay in the apartments.

There is free wireless internet all over the property, and the Fox & Hounds Inn has free parking, laundry and dry-cleaning services, concierge services, daily housekeeping and a front desk that is open from eight to eight. And if you need an iron or ironing board, just ask. There is conference space and there are meeting rooms, making this a good business centre. Children, but not pets (service animals excepted) are welcome, and there is in fact a playground on the premises, also an outdoor tennis court.

The Fox & Hounds Inn has a restaurant which specialises in seafood and local produce, where you can enjoy your meal surrounded by an eclectic collection of British memorabilia. There is also a bar, with several Tasmanian tipples from beer to wine on offer, or you can enjoy the venue’s award-winning coffee.

Port Arthur Historic Site is just a minute away, where you can find out what the place was like in the convict era, and the Tasmanian Devil Park is only about ten minutes away. There are many more attractions, which the staff can recommend and even book tickets for. And of course there is the whole of the peninsula and the surrounding bush to explore.
