NRMA Port Arthur Holiday Park

A Studio Cabin has a queen bed and a view of the park garden, and there is also an accessible version of this, sleeping up to two people. A Garden Cabin sleeps four, in a double bed and a single bunk, and has a garden view too.

All options have air conditioning and either heating or an electric fireplace, a kitchen or kitchenette, a bathroom and some have a veranda, barbecue, lounge and dining area, television, DVD player and Foxtel, depending on which one you go for.

There is also an air-conditioned, eight-room Bunkhouse that sleeps up to sixty-four, and has a shared bathroom, heating, a fridge, a television and Foxtel. For the campers there are unpowered sites with an amenities block, camp kitchen, barbecue area and fire pit, or for those with a camper van there are powered sites with the same facilities plus power and water. An Ensuite site adds a private ensuite plus a toilet and shower.

On the site itself there is a kiosk which provides such necessities as fuel, including LP gas, ice and supplies groceries among other things. There is a coin-operated laundry, a playground and during the school holidays NRMA Port Arthur Holiday Park provides free children’s activities. You can hire quad pedal carts to ride around the place, and the camp kitchen is there for everyone’s use. There is also an enclosed barbecue shelter and of course a dump point.

If you haven’t already visited the famous Port Arthur Historic Site, this is your chance as there is nothing like it anywhere else in Tasmania. You are also not far from Shipstern Bluff, the aptly named Remarkable Cave (a mere ten minutes’ walk away), and Port Arthur Lavender Farm. Of course, you could just sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet of the peninsula itself.
