Day 1 - Explore Hobart

Spend the day exploring Salamanca Place and Battery Point. If Saturday, Salamanca Market will be in full swing. Drive up Mt. Wellington for spectacular views over southern Tasmania. Optional self-drive to historic Richmond – 20 minutes from Hobart.

Day 2 - Head to the East Coast

Enjoy an afternoon-drive up the east coast via Orford to Freycinet National Park. Stop at Spiky Bridge, Kate’s Berry Farm and Freycinet Vineyard on the way.

Bicheno

Bicheno is a beautiful town on the spectacular east coast of Tasmania, cradled between Douglas-Apsley National Park and Freycinet National Park. Day 3 - Head to Launceston and Explore

Meet the top of your Tassie bucket list. Wineglass Bay is part of the Freycinet Peninsula, an outcrop of wild, pristine coast land on Tasmania’s east coast. Encompassed within the Freycinet National Park, it is considered one of the top ten beaches in the world.

Then continue north of Bicheno along the Great Eastern Drive. Cut over the Elephant Pass and then through St. Marys and the Fingal Valley to join the Heritage Highway. Follow it to Launceston.

Arrive Launceston enjoy the walks in Cataract Gorge which is 10 mins from the centre of town and be sure to  explore Tamar valley ( famous for produce and cool climate wine)

Day 4 - Head to Cradle Mountain

On your way go through the town of Sheffield and see the murals created by talented artists. Check out some of the great short walks along the way to stretch your legs! Take on the Tasting Trail on your way to try some local delights that are recommended on your final itinerary.  Or go the longer way via Mole Creek to check out the Caves & enjoy some local delights such as Honey and Salmon. Stretch your legs at Alum Cliffs and get more views of the Great Western Tiers. Arriving at Cradle Mountain, explore the many walks of the Cradle Mountain National Park. Your final itinerary will have information of walks in the area and spots I think you will enjoy!

Day 5 - Head to the Wild West

Explore the many walks at Cradle Mountain National Park. Drive to the west coast village of Strahan. Stop at Henty Dunes and Zeehan Mining Museum on the way.

Day 6 - Explore Strahan ( optional Gordon River Cruise)

Enjoy the stunning Gordon River Cruise* as an optional add on – lunch Included. Drive out to Ocean Beach to feel the “Roaring 40s” and experience a wild, cool tempered beach at its best.

Day 7 Head back to Hobart

Traverse alpine region and drive through the old mining town of Queenstown and through to Lake St. Clair. Visit the ‘Wall in the Wilderness’ before stopping for lunch at the Derwent Bridge Hotel. Walk in the rainforest to experience ferns, tall trees and waterfalls at Russell Falls before following the Derwent Valley into Hobart.
