On the other side of the lodge from the lake is Mount Farrell Regional Reserve, eye-wateringly beautiful wild landscape from rock faces to colourful heather, with maybe a chance to spot a platypus on one of the many graded walking tracks. A public boat ramp is nearby, as is a hire point for canoes and pedal boats, a range of 4WD tracks and, for a trip back in time, the Wee Georgie Wood narrow-gauge steam railway.
Situated on a lake, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Lake Rosebery and Mount Farrell Regional Reserve. Mount Farrell and Mackintosh Regional Reserve are also within 3 mi (5 km). Boco Siding Station is 26 minutes by foot.
