The TRC Hotel
Here’s a good two-star hotel, rooms with and without their own bathrooms, combined with a bottle shop, restaurant, sport bar and convenience store.
En-suite rooms sleep between one and four while it’s two to four in the shared-bathroom ones. It’s a variety of bed configurations, but all have air conditioning, linens and bedding, while several have a television. All guests at the TRC Hotel may use the guest lounge, where they can make themselves tea and coffee.

Opening at ten, it runs until midnight Fridays and Saturdays, closing a little earlier on other days.
The TRC Hotel has its own filling station, where there is also a convenience store so you can stock up on groceries, newspapers, cigarettes and confectionery, plus everything you need for your car. When it comes to alcohol shopping, beer, wine and spirits are on sale at a branch of Liquour Stax, a bottle shop (or off-licence to UK readers) adjacent to the hotel.
As the hotel is right inside Launceston’s Central Business District (CBD), it means you don’t have far to walk if you want to reach many of the other places of interest such as the amazing Cataract Gorge, Brisbane Street Mall, Penny Royal Adventures or one of the sightseeing cruises on the river. A shuttle bus to the airport (LST Launceston) is provided for an additional fee, or you can drive there in about fifteen minutes.
Located in Launceston CBD, this hotel is steps from Royal Park and Launceston College. Penny Royal Adventures and Queen Victoria Museum are also within 10 minutes.
