Stewarts Bay Lodge
A spectacularly beautiful combination of sandy beaches, crystal-clear seas and the forest woodlands of this world-heritage-listed national park, coupled with the comfort of high-quality in both cabins and chalets. This is a perfect starting point if you want to go exploring in the famous Tasman Peninsula, known all over the world for its natural wonders and historic sites, to relax in on an idyllic beach of white sand, swim in fantastically clear ocean waters, or host your business event somewhere unforgettable.
The accommodation at Stewarts Bay Lodge comes in the forms of Cabins and Chalets, with the option of a King-size Chalet with a king-size bed and an ocean view and also a Premium Chalet with 2 bedrooms, 1 king bed, 2 twin beds and an ocean view. All eighteen rooms feature balconies or patios as standard, which have private bathrooms with showers and free toiletries. You will also find the mod cons of a washer and dryer, stove top, a full-sized fridge and freezer, microwave and a TV with a DVD player. As well as the necessary kitchen and laundry facilities, including dry cleaning, your room is equipped with everything you need to make tea and coffee, to dry your hair and to do any necessary ironing.
At this child-friendly lodge (there is even a playground on the premises), you have all the necessary amenities for picnics and barbecues (grills provided). Luggage storage is available, and you can relax in the bar and lounge area. There is some degree of wireless internet available in public areas, for which a small fee is charged per stay. For an additional fee there is a buffet breakfast on offer. Guests with any kind of service animals are the exception to the no-pets rule, and infant beds can be hired for as little as AUD 15 per stay. There is free parking, weekly housekeeping and the staff speak English.
Stewarts Bay Lodge has its own on-site restaurant, “Gabriel’s On The Bay”. Here you can enjoy fresh food from local farms and, in the case of seafood, the pristine waters of the Tasman Peninsula. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available daily.
It is not only tourism which draws people to Stewarts Bay Lodge. Business facilities are also here, with function rooms and conference space available in a setting that gives amazing views of the bay and the forests. You will see why the hotel is so popular for everything from conferences and seminars to weddings and other celebrations. Whatever your reason for visiting, you will probably want to take advantage of the lodge’s ideal location which is near the beach and just under 5 km from Port Arthur Historic Site (the best preserved convict site in Australia, as well as the best presented!), the Tasman Golf course and Port Arthur Lavender Farm. If you are feeling like going a little further afield (no further than 10 km), you can reach Point Puer and Isle of the Dead. Should you require any assistance with booking either tickets or tours, the hotel staff will be happy to help, and their front desk is open every day from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. There are, of course, possibilities to check-in outside of these times if you arrange your arrival in advance.
Situated in Port Arthur, this beach hotel is within a 15-minute walk of Shipstern Bluff and Isle of the Dead. Port Arthur Historic Site and Stewarts Bay State Reserve are also within 1 mi (2 km).
Guests at this beach hotel will appreciate convenient onsite amenities such as a playground and barbecue grills.
My husband and I travelled from Canada to attend our daughter's wedding which took place at Port Arthur Historic site with the reception/dinner held at Stewart's Bay Lodge. All the guests stayed at the Lodge and everyone seemed very pleased with the choice. We loved our cabin and the stunning views. The staff were helpful and friendly. I had forgotten to order lunch for the bridal party while they were having hair and makeup done and the manager quickly rectified this. The reception was terrific... Overall a wonderful experience.
This restaurant [Gabriel's On The Bay] has the location (beautiful scenery), wonderfully warm service and scrumptious food. Just to make it extra special... to highlight our dinner was the visiting wildlife - just so cute to watch. Thank you for making it a brilliant experience.
