If you are interested in more of the island’s history in the days when it was used as a convict settlement, there is also the fascinating museum: Ross Female Factory, again just about five minutes’ walk from the hotel. Alternatively, Launceston is under an hour away by car, with the airport just forty-five minutes’ drive from here.
