Rooms at Penghana Bed & Breakfast include a Signature Suite with a Queen Bed, about a third larger than a Signature Room, also with a Queen Bed, a Signature Twin Room with two Queen Beds, or you could choose a Classic Double Room with a Queen Bed. What you get with the beds is, naturally, premium bedding, and each room is individually furnished and decorated. Rooms have blackout curtains, which can come in useful in the middle of summer, and there is a flat-panel television, DVD player, hair dryer, electric blankets, mattress toppers, wall heaters, bedside water carafes, basic toiletries and you get bathrobes freshly laundered for your personal use. The free wifi which is available in the rooms can also be picked up in some of the public areas of the premises, and speaking of free things, the self-parking comes at no extra cost. The breakfast which is served each morning from 7 to 8:30 is also free.
Penghana Bed & Breakfast also has a library, a bar and lounge, water dispenser, shared microwave and refrigerator, luggage storage facilities, a picnic area (as well as barbecue grills), and tea and coffee available in common areas. The proprietors have not forgotten the minority who still smoke, and designated smoking areas are available (please do not smoke outside these, as there is a fine for doing so). Speaking of regulations, as well as a no-pets policy, the minimum age for children at this B&B is fourteen years.
There is quite a range of attractions locally. For example, you can see an artistic work in progress called ‘The Wall’, where the history of Tasmania is, bit by bit, being carved onto three hundred square metres of wood. Head into the West Coast Mountains behind a real steam locomotive on a rack-and-pinion mountain railway, following the river valley’s breathtaking scenery. Head off to Strahan for a World Heritage Cruise down the majestic Gordon River. There is white-water rafting, Zeehan Golf Club, and Penghana Bed & Breakfast is itself located in a national park, so there is something to see right on your doorstep.
Situated in a national park, this bed & breakfast is within a 10-minute walk of West Coast Wilderness Railway, Eric Thomas Galley Museum, and Spion Kop Lookout. Nelson Falls and Henty Glacial Erratics State Reserve are also within 9 mi (15 km).
