Launceston City Park Apartments
These are good, no-nonsense apartments with cooking facilities and, in some cases, a fine view of the park opposite, their principal selling point being that they are excellent for the city centre – it’s virtually a stone’s throw – and they are right inside the CBD (Central Business District).
Featuring mostly double beds, complete with bedding, the 3.5-star Launceston City Park The individually furnished apartments additionally have free parking, free wireless internet and a front-desk. There are apartments with a balcony and a lounge area, which also has a dining table, a coffee table, a desk and a digital television. When it comes to making meals, equipment such as a cooker with hobs and an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator and a kettle are available, and there are wall-mounted air-conditioning units.
Guests staying at Launceston City Park Apartments may pick up a complimentary newspaper, and there are telephones installed so you won’t find yourself at crisis point if your mobile packs up on you for some reason. The staff have helpfully included an express checking-in and checking-out service, and as they know the city so well they can book any tours or tickets for events and places of interest. A limited housekeeping service is on offer too, plus an airport shuttle service for a surcharge. Contact the staff in advance if you are bringing your pet with you, and they should be able to sort something out.
Launceston has, of course, the mother of all places of interest in the shape of Cataract Gorge. As well as being spectacularly beautiful, is is a good place to bring the kids for some outdoor swimming, as it has all the necessary facilities in place. For an indoor equivalent, parents galore have recommended Launceston Aquatic Centre. The National Automobile Museum, about five minutes away, is one of those places that even visitors not initially all that keen on cars have been known to speak highly of, and there’s the City Park, Albert Hall Convention Centre and, especially in high season, a cruise on the River Tamar for those wanting to see the area from another angle. The apartments themselves are about twelve minutes’ drive from LST Launceston Airport.
Located in Launceston CBD, this hotel is steps from City Park and Launceston Aquatic Centre. Design Centre of Tasmania and City Park Radio Museum are also within 5 minutes. East Tamar Junction Station is 19 minutes by foot.
