Whether it’s the panoramic views of the Studio Villa or the secluded peace and quiet of the Cottage, these quaint, self-contained dwellings give you all that is best from a more modern property while still retaining the charm of the farmyard setting you are staying in.
The Studio Villa and the Cottage can each sleep up to six in a queen bed, two singles and a double pull-out sofa bed, so Cherry Top Accommodation is a good choice for moderately large groups travelling together. A stove, microwave and refrigerator are in both properties, with the villa also having an oven. Linen and towels are provided, and each place has reverse-cycle cooling and heating, fitted with anti-allergy enzyme filtering.
A washing machine, outdoor drying area, iron and ironing board mean you don’t have to go hunting for a launderette, and although there isn’t a wi-fi network in the cottage (the villa has Telstra Broad Band), you are in range of the mobile-phone transmitters so bringing your own apparatus should work. The LCD television has SD and USB ports, plus there is a video library in the cottage and a collection of books and games in the villa.
A couple of vehicles can park at each of the venues, off-street, and both have pleasant views of the adjacent farmland. Several activities are on offer at Cherry Top Accommodation, including one-hour farm tours which vary depending on the season. As well as fruit picking, you can help with the nut-cracking thanks to the nineteenth-century seed and grain crusher, and of course you are welcome to lend a hand feeding the chickens.
While Cherry Top Accommodation’s charm is its remote location, if you hop in the car there are numerous other attractions that won’t take long to drive to, such as the beaches of Low Head, Bay of Fires and Bridport, a wide range of golf courses including the famous Barnbougle, and all the venues along the Tamar Valley wine route plus tastings. Nearby Hollybank and Derby are great for mountain biking, and the Tamar River is a good place for canoeing (with some places offering boat hire). Launceston, with its famous Cataract Gorge, is near enough to make it an ideal destination for a day trip.
Located in the mountains, this family-friendly cottage is within 9 mi (15 km) of Pipers River Regional Reserve, Mount Arthur Regional Reserve, and Lady Nelson Regional Reserve. Dismal Range Conservation Area and Brook Eden Vineyard are also within 12 mi (20 km).
This smoke-free cottage features a garden, barbecue grills, and free WiFi in public areas.
