Two categories of accommodation are on offer here. If keeping a close eye on the budget is your thing, the hostel offers mixed and female-only dormitories. If you prefer more privacy, there are rooms with bunk beds for a large family and with a double bed for couples, complete with en-suite bathroom. Some of the dormitories are air-conditioned (the only such dormitories in Hobart), as are the private rooms.
The en-suite rooms include a refrigerator and a television. The other rooms necessitate the use of a shared bathroom, and all throughout the building you have access to the hotel’s wireless internet. Brunswick Hotel has a buffet on the premises, while some of the rooms also feature drinks-making equipment. Guests can also make use of laundry facilities, and the staff can lend a hand with tour booking as well.
Hobart’s waterfront district is only about five minutes’ walk from Brunswick Hotel, so if you want to pick up a souvenir from the famous Salamanca Market then you won’t have far to go. Take a ferry trip and you can find the truly unforgettable MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), and for a day trip, there is the UNESCO-listed Port Arthur Historic Site, one of Tasmania’s most popular tourist attractions.
