There is a good range of cottages, sleeping between two (Pea In A Pod Cottage) to seven (Sweetcorn Cottage). The main choice is between the Coachmans and Gardeners cottages, with their antique furnishings, old-fashioned deep baths and private gardens, and the farm cottages, made using traditional building techniques from recycled materials and providing a real home from home, visited by occasional farm bird on their way to and from the farm.
Whichever you choose, you’ll have a private bathroom equipped with free toiletries, luggage storage, an iron with ironing board, and a kitchen with a microwave oven (other facilities depend on the cottage).
Brickendon provides free self parking, and everywhere on the smoke free property is within range of free wireless internet. Breakfast is also free. As well as the garden and picnic area, complete with barbecue equipment, there is the possibility of hiring bicycles, perfect for exploring the estate and surrounding area.
The estate itself has been in the same family since 1824, and is a reminder of a bygone age. Originally built with convict labour, it has more than twenty heritage buildings to explore. There are plenty of walks you can take through the gardens, the farm and along the river. Fishing is a popular activity, and you can get up close with the friendly farm animals. In fact you can watch the animals being fed from just after ten in the morning. As well as all of the attractions Brickendon Estate has to offer, you are also only about five kilometres from Woolmers Estate and Christ Church Longford.
Situated in a rural location, this cottage is 0.1 mi (0.1 km) from Brickendon Estate and within 3 mi (5 km) of Christ Church Longford and Woolmers Estate. National Rose Garden and Brickendon Colonial Farm Village are also within 3 mi (5 km).
