Day 1 - Explore Launceston

Cataract Gorge is a piece of wilderness just 15 minutes walk from Launceston city center. Here you’ll find many attractions such as the world’s longest single span chairlift.

Day 2 - Drive to Cradle Mountain

Tamar River stretches from the city of Launceston to the Bass Strait in northern Tasmania, but it is not a river. It’s actually a saline and tidal estuary.

Day 3 - Head to West Coast

Cradle Mountain is a part of – Lake St. Clair National Park – one of 5 parks that form the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage.

Day 4 - Gordon River Cruise

Gordon River Cruises is an award winning wilderness experience in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

Day 5 - Drive back to Hobart

Mt Field National Park is located just just 80 km from capital city Hobart. It is a home of Tasmania’s best know Russell Falls.

Day 6 - Explore Hobart

Located at historic Salamanca Place, Salamanca market is a major tourist attraction in Tasmania and attracts thousands of locals and visitors every Saturday.

Day 7 - Great Eastern Drive to East Coast

Orford is a popular coastal and river township on part of the Great Eastern Drive.
Go for a swim, take a walk along a sandy beach, pack a picnic with locally grown fare or visit a nearby winery that the east coast is famous for.

Day 8 - Head back to Launceston to fly out

Wineglass Bay is part of the Freycinet Peninsula, an outcrop of wild, pristine coast land on Tasmania’s east coast.

Day 1 - Explore Launceston

Arrive Launceston. Pick up car Launceston Airport. Drive to City. Visit Cataract Gorge and explore the cool and vibrant city.

Accommodation: Elphin Motel and Apartments Launceston or similar
Upgrade to 4 star accommodation

Day 2 - Drive to Cradle Mountain

Drive along the west bank of Tamar River, then cut across northern Tasmania to the UNESCO World Heritage area of Cradle Mountain.

Accommodation: Cradle Mountain – Cradle Mountain Hotel or similar
Upgrade to 4 star accommodation

Day 3 - Head to West Coast

Explore the many walks at Cradle Mountain National Park. Drive to the west coast village of Strahan. Stop at Henty Dunes and Zeehan Mining Museum on the way.

Accommodation: Strahan – Strahan Village or similar
Upgrade to 4 star accommodation

Day 4 - Gordon River Cruise

Enjoy the stunning Gordon River Cruise* as an optional add on – lunch Included. Main deck or Upper deck options available. Drive out to Ocean Beach to feel the “Roaring 40s” and experience a wild, cool tempered beach at its best.

Accommodation: Strahan – Strahan Village or similar
Upgrade to 4 star accommodation

Day 5 - Drive back to Hobart

Traverse alpine region and drive through the old mining town of Queenstown and through to Lake St. Clair. Visit the ‘Wall in the Wilderness’ before stopping for lunch at the Derwent Bridge Hotel. Walk in the rainforest to experience ferns, tall trees and waterfalls at Russell Falls before following the Derwent Valley into Hobart.

Day 6 - Explore Hobart

Spend the day exploring Salamanca Place and Battery Point. If Saturday, Salamanca Market will be in full swing. Drive up Mt. Wellington for spectacular views over southern Tasmania. Optional self-drive to historic Richmond – 20 minutes from Hobart.

Day 7 - Great Eastern Drive to East Coast

Enjoy an afternoon-drive up the east coast via Orford to Freycinet National Park. Stop at Spiky Bridge, Kate’s Berry Farm and Freycinet Vineyard on the way.

Update to 4 star accomodation Freycinet Lodge premier cabin – includes breakfast

Day 8 - Head back to Launceston to fly out

As an optional add on, take the 4 hour cruise to Wineglass Bay, lunch included. Drive to Bicheno and northwards. Cut over the Elephant Pass and then through St. Marys and the Fingal Valley to join the Heritage Highway. Follow it to Launceston.

Drop off rental car at Launceston airport. Depart Launceston.
Note: Can also depart Hobart airport.

Thanks to Cheryle we had a wonderful 4 1/2 days in Tasmania. Everything went to plan beautifully, and the weather could not have been better, especially for our 3 days of golf at Barnbougle. Our room at Lost Farm, the food at both Lost Farm and The Dunes, the upgraded hire car and the morning golf tee-off times - all details were organised to perfection. Hi We would highly recommend Zoe and Her team as a Great place to go to organise a holiday to Tasmania. Our 7 day holiday was Great for the Whole 7days. Picked up Car at airport. Drove to Launceston and Zoe suggested places to go,and one place was Cataract Gorge, which was a fantastic spot. We traveled from there to Devonport, Then Cradle Mountain and Queenstown.
