Day 1: Cradle Valley Boardwalk, Weindorfers Forest, and Waldheim

  • Location: Cradle Mountain National Park
  • Distance: 9 km
  • Grade: Easy (Grade 2)
  • Highlights: Start your adventure with a gentle walk along the Cradle Valley Boardwalk, exploring the diverse flora and searching for wombats on the grassy plains. Visit the historic Waldheim Chalet and delve into an ancient forest of myrtle beech and king billy pine.

Day 2: Hansons Peak and Twisted Lakes

  • Location: Eastern Cradle Mountain
  • Distance: 10 km
  • Grade: Hard (Grade 3 – 4)
  • Highlights: Ascend Hansons Peak for a unique view of Cradle Mountain and its surrounding lakes. Traverse the serene Twisted Lakes and Lake Hanson, set amidst endemic pencil pines and fagus, offering a tranquil and secluded experience.

Day 3: Lake Lilla, Wombat Pool, Marion’s Lookout, and Crater Falls

Enjoy four days of guided walking amongst the beautiful landscapes surrounding Cradle Mountain – walk segments of the famous Overland Track, spot wombats grazing on the grassy plains and hike over mountainous terrain for magnificent views. We visit glacially carved lakes, ancient rainforests, and seek out some of the parks hidden highlights.

This is one of Australia’s most iconic natural areas and a truly inspiring location to visit.

Please note – some walks are highly weather dependent due to the region’s exposed alpine environment, and your guides may choose to alter the itinerary accordingly where necessary. They will always strive to provide the most scenic walks possible based around the local conditions.
