What You Will See

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Mount Wellington’s summit with panoramic views of Hobart, the Derwent River, and the vast wilderness. Enjoy the rush of the 6 km summit road descent, then roll into the rainforest to begin your 11 km North-South Track adventure. As you dart through the eucalyptus forest, keep an eye out for curious wildlife, glacial rock gardens, unique flora and fauna, and cascading rivulets.

Itinerary

• Meeting Location: Meet at our office, 473 Macquarie St, South Hobart.
• Shuttle to Mount Wellington: Enjoy the ascent with our shuttle service, taking in the grandeur of Hobart’s surroundings.
• E-Bike Ride Down North-South Track: Upon reaching the summit, prepare for the thrill of descending the spectacular 6 km summit road, then divert into the rainforest and join the 11 km North-South Track. This track is famous for its diverse environments, ranging from alpine plateaus to lush forests. More info about the North South Track can be found here
• Explore Glenorchy MTB Park: After the North South Track, you’ll enter the Glenorchy MTB Park. Here, you’ll have the chance to ride additional trails tailored to different skill levels, surrounded by stunning natural scenery.

Time for Each Leg of the Tour

• Shuttle to Summit: 30 minutes
• E-Bike Ride Down: 1 hour 30 minutes
• Ride back to Hobart on the Intercity Cycleway: 1 hour (Google Maps – Intercity Cycleway to our office: https://goo.gl/maps/7UCpFf67pijf6XRh8)
• Ride up the North-South Track followed by trails descending into south Hobart: 2 Hours

General Information

• Duration: Approximately 4-5 hours.
• Inclusions: E-bike hire, helmet, shuttle service.
• Your hire bike: You’ll be riding an Avanti Hammer-E LT2. 625wH electric motor. Dual suspension, 160mm travel, 12 speed, disc brakes, dropper post, wide grippy tyres.
• Requirements: Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
• Minimum booking: 2 people.
• Return shuttle from Glenorchy MTB Park: If you are interested to be collected by our minibus from Glenorchy MTB Park, please contact us for availability and a quote.
• Self-guided ride: This tour is self-guided, however, if you are interested to have a guide, please enquire with us.
• Rider ability: The track is suitable for mountain bike riders of intermediate ability and fitness. It is classified as a ‘blue’ trail. If you’d like to know more about the trail, please contact us for a chat.
• Waiver: For the safety of all tour participants, we require everyone to sign a waiver before arrival. We’ve made the process easy and convenient for you by providing a 100% online waiver form. Once you’ve made your booking, you’ll receive an email from us with a link to the online waiver form. We kindly ask that you complete the form before your scheduled tour.

There is a great cafe opposite our office, Ginger Brown. Delicious coffee, breakfast, and lunch.

It’s a 25-minute walk from the city centre to our office.

Parking – on weekends there is plenty of free parking close to our office. Monday to Friday, there is usually free on-street parking on nearby Washington St.

The oldest operating brewery in Australia, Cascades, is a 15-minute walk from our office.

Cancellation policy

Customers can cancel their booking without incurring any charges up to 24 hours prior to the tour start time. Cancellations made within this specified period will receive a full refund, less a booking processing fee.

If a cancellation is made after the allowed cancellation period, a cancellation fee will be applicable. The cancellation fee will be 50% of the total booking amount.

Customers who cancel within the permitted cancellation period will be eligible for a full refund of the total booking amount. The refund will be processed within 7 business days after the cancellation request is received.

Customers may request modifications to their booking, such as changing the date, without incurring any fees, subject to availability. However, such modifications must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled tour start time.

In the case of delays or unforeseen emergencies, we understand that plans can be disrupted. We will make every effort to accommodate changes to your schedule under these circumstances. Please contact our office as soon as possible to discuss any necessary adjustments.

If a customer fails to show up for the tour without prior notice, it will be considered a no-show. No-shows are not eligible for a refund, and the full booking amount will be charged.

To cancel a booking, customers must contact our customer support team via phone or email. Please provide your booking details and the reason for cancellation.
