Wagner’s Cottage
The range of cottages suits a variety of holidaymakers, whether you need laundry and cooking facilities or just a cosy loft-type getaway, furnished to a comfortable standard and in the seaside town of Swansea where there is something for almost everyone.
The four cottages are called Primrose, Hollyhock, Wagners and Studio. They have laundry facilities, reverse-cycle air conditioning, wireless internet and either a kitchenette or a full kitchen. Some include a real log fire, a pod coffee machine, a spa bath, laundry facilities, a television in the bathroom and an extra bedroom.
Wagners Cottages are individually decorated, all with furniture of a high standard (the properties are variously rated four-star and three-and-a-half-star), with breakfast provisions that include a freshly baked sourdough loaf and eggs from the owners’ own hens. The eponymous Wagners cottage features stairs and, being an attic property, has a ceiling which might not be ideal if you are substantially taller than average, while the other three have no such height requirements.
For a surcharge it is possible to park on-site, and accommodation for a pet may depend on the particular cottage so if you are bringing your four-legged friend, it would be a good idea to have a chat with the owners first. Children are welcome, and the gardens, patios and entire surrounding areas are perfect places for them to play. Incidentally, the term ‘Wagner’s Cottage’ seems to be in common usage for any one of these cosy properties and not just the name of one of them. That information might be useful when booking in order to avoid confusion.
Swansea, where Wagners Cottages are located, is next to Great Oyster Bay. This puts a wide range of conservation beaches within a short walk or drive from where you are staying, and a chance to do a spot of whale watching. To the north is the paradise of Freycinet National Park and the relaxing Wineglass Bay. Golf, cycling, swimming, sailing, boat and plane trips, The Long Lunch Wine Tour Company and Devils In The Dark – a chance to see the island’s namesake in as close to a wild setting as most visitors will ever be able to – are part of the plethora of ways you can spend your time here.
