You’ll like what you get in your room here! As well as a private bathroom with a shower, hair-dryer and free toiletries, the whole place is air-conditioned, you have the use of a microwave oven and a fridge, there’s a television and a DVD player, plus free wi-fi. Not only that, but they give you everything you need for making tea and coffee in your room, too. Housekeeping is done daily.
Outside your room, where the free wi-fi signal is still available, your friendly hosts at The River House Launceston Tamar Valley have also provided laundry facilities, space for storing your luggage, access to a computer station, a garden (where you can have a barbecue, using the facilities provided), and you get a full breakfast every morning. Parking your car is still your own job, but there’s no charge for it! And don’t forget that, unless you are bringing what is classified as a ‘service animal’, there is a rule against pets. So, that and the no-children condition seems quite reasonable when it comes to house rules.
The River House Launceston Tamar Valley has its own outdoor pool (seasonal), and is located on a river, so no one will blame you if you want to idle your time away never leaving the premises. That said, if you fancy venturing no further than fifteen kilometres away, you can find attractions such as the Launceston Tramway Museum, the 1842 Gallery, University of Tasmania – Inveresk, Queen Victoria Art Gallery and the oft-visited Town Clock. If none of those takes your fancy, your ever-helpful hosts will definitely be able to come up with a raft of suggestions to suit all tastes.

We spent two nights at River House. Couldn't want for better comfort and hospitality. The River House is ideally located to explore the NE Tasmania wineries but still close enough to Launceston if you need to be.
Perfect Hideaway in the Tamar Valley What a beautiful property The River House is, stunning views over-looking the Tamar River, picture postcard and it's perfectly located for touring the Tamar Valley vine-yards and other points of interest in the area, also a good base for Launceston. Anna and Michael, the new hosts are welcoming and the breakfasts are amazing. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything you need for a few days away.
