The Ikon Hotel

The Ikon Hotel is a four-star boutique venue which has justifiably won AAA rating. Each of the twelve suites is spacious and features a king-size bed with king-size pillows and a tempur mattress, so you can be sure of a good night’s sleep. You have a large, en-suite bathroom and a choice of shower, spa bath or both. Relax on the imported Italian leather furniture in a room with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and an LCD television, or out on your balcony with views of the street or ocean.
As well as being personally taken to your room by the friendly hotel staff, as a guest you will have the use of laundry facilities, secure parking (on or off-site), business services which include photocopying, faxing and printing, and there is even access to a local gym which can be booked at The Ikon Hotel’s front desk. Naturally, there is free wireless internet on the premises. The hotel itself is heritage listed, and is quite an attraction in and of itself (with a lift being the only mod con it lacks).
Nearby are a wide variety of restaurants, with Fish Frenzy on the beach front particularly recommended. There are charge-back arrangements with some of them, meaning that your dining experience is added to your one hotel bill rather than being paid separately. Other attractions in Burnie include galleries, museums, Burnie Park (excellent for a picnic), the Makers Workshop, and a range of wine and cheese-tasting opportunities. Burnie Waterfront Boardwalk is just three minutes away on foot, from where you can enjoy magnificent views of the sea as well as all the beach-based activities. The hotel staff are highly knowledgeable of what there is to see, so if you are stuck for ideas, just ask.
Situated in Burnie, this hotel is within a 5-minute walk of Burnie Waterfront Boardwalk, Burnie Arts & Function Centre, and West Beach. Maker’s Workshop Information Centre and Little Penguin Observation Centre are also within 15 minutes.

Thanks for a great stay! The location was amazing and all the staff were very helpful, thoughtful and accommodating. They gave us a late checkout so we could grab a shower after the Burnie ten. They stocked us full-cream milk for our toddler and upgraded us for free to the one bedroom apartment (great Oct offer).
