The Burrow – Waratah. Picturesque Town Near Cradle Mountain and Tarkine
If you are on a motoring holiday in the Cradle Mountain region, this is a good choice for comfort, peace and quiet, and its family and pet-friendly nature.
The Burrow has sleeping space for up to five, with a queen bed in the main bedroom and a double bed with a single bunk in the second. Linens are all provided, as are towels and toiletries, and the bathroom, recently updated, has both a bath and a shower. The non-smoking property has air conditioning and a laundry room complete with washing and drying facilities, including a sink. When it comes to the cooking arrangements, you have the use of a cooker, with both an oven and a hob, a microwave, a full-size refrigerator, a food mixer, a toaster, a kettle, a wide range of cookware including cutlery, plates, cups and so on, and there is a supply of tea, coffee and sugar on hand.
If you prefer to eat out, the nearby town of Waratah offers inexpensive dinners at the Bischoff Hotel and pub, and you can also enjoy coffee and lunch at the Mushroom Cafe or get takeaway food from The Roadhouse, where you can also stock up on groceries and fuel.
Back at The Burrow, there is a wood-fueled fireplace for you to sit around if the weather turns cold, and you can entertain yourself with the television, DVD player and a number of books, DVDs and board games in the house.
You will be able to make use of the fenced garden area, with a paved section complete with garden furniture and barbecue equipment. The Burrow is an ideal place to bring your children (there are a lot of toys in the house for them) and, subject to confirmation from the owner, your pet as well.
Further afield you can explore Cradle Mountain, the Waratah Museum, Stamper Mill and the beautiful waterfall. Minimum stay is two nights, but you will almost definitely want to stay longer!
