Whether it is a getaway or a hiking base you are looking for, the top-quality accommodation with some of the most amazing views make this an excellent choice for up to six people.
Three bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms, have large beds, double-glazed windows and views of the surrounding countryside. In the kitchen you can find a cooker with an extraction hood, a microwave, a refrigerator, plenty of food-preparation space and much more. This is on one side of a huge open-plan area that includes a real fireplace, a lovely, polished, wooden dining table, two sofas, an armchair and a glass-topped coffee table, with a wall-mounted flat-screen television.
Mountain Blue Guest Accommodation also has electric heating, free WiFi, spring water on tap, and that’s just indoors. When you step outside, there are forty-three acres of private land that includes bush land, open pasture and a crop of blueberries. If you come here in the spring, there are daffodils a-plenty. Towering over the landscape is Quamby Bluff, a mountain with a flattish top, not entirely unlike the iconic landmark from Close Encounters!
This all means of course that you can curl up at Mountain Blue Guest Accommodation and escape from the rest of the world if you like. However, there is so much more that you can explore in the area, such as the numerous walking tracks, Quamby Bluff itself (follow the wonderfully named Fairy Glade Track), Liffey Falls and the Great Lakes. Horse riding, fly fishing, gourmet food and the chance to see myriad wild animals are all on offer here as well.
Situated in the mountains, this vacation home is within 12 mi (20 km) of St. Marks Church, Deloraine and Districts Folk Museum, and Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre. Yarns Artwork in Silk and Three Willows Vineyard are also within 16 mi (25 km).

By a country mile, it was the best accommodation we enjoyed on our 16-day drive from Queensland and back. The decor is outstanding, the space beyond what one might expect, the facilities were 5-star and the setting is so tranquil.
