Gumnut Cottage
The Freycinet Peninsula is a wonderful place to visit, and staying in this two-bedroom cedar cottage, with everything you need for a comfortable stay – from cooking and laundry equipment to a cosy wood-burning stove – is here at your disposal. And you’re not in a remote backwater either, with the bakeries, cafes, general stores and other amenities a short walk away.
Three bedrooms, two in the cottage and one in a separate en-suite sleepout called LeShack, give sleeping arrangements for a maximum of eight guests, in two queen beds, a double, a single and a bunk bed. In addition to high-quality bedding and electric blankets, Gumnut Cottage also includes a modern three-piece suite in the lounge, where you can also find a flat-screen, HD television with a DVD player, air conditioning and heating, plus a wood-fire, a fitted kitchen with microwave oven, cooker (oven and hobs), fridge and freezer, plus a starter kit for making tea and coffee.
Parking at Gumnut Cottage is free and so is the internet access (which is wireless). The owners have made sure you have all the essential equipment such as a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, electric kettle and cookware. The interior of the building is non-smoking, and outside you can enjoy the amazing views of the mountains on the horizon while having a barbecue on the furnished deck, or relax in the garden area.
Wander just ten minutes afield and there is a boat ramp, wonderful beaches to explore, a number of restaurants and cafes, as well as a general store, a post office and a bakery. Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre is not far, and a trip to Wineglass Bay is definitely recommended. In fact the whole of the Freycinet Peninsula is true gem of a place to spend a holiday in and around. There are boat trips in the bay for those who would like to see it from another angle, and all manner of wildlife including some particularly rare birds make their home here. It’s easy to see why.
Situated near the beach, this cottage is within a 10-minute walk of Coles Bay Conservation Area, Coles Bay, and Richardsons Beach. Muirs Beach and Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre are also within 15 minutes.
Along with barbecue grills, this smoke-free cottage has free self parking and free WiFi in public areas.
