Blue Lake Lodge
A huge lake reflecting Tasmania’s wild beauty and perfect for trout fishing surrounds this luxurious, spacious lodge, with unforgettable views whether you choose to enjoy them from the comfort of your room or the wide open space of the terrace, plus a myriad of modern conveniences and the old-world charm of a real fireplace.
Each of the bedrooms has a custom-made, king-size timber bed with a doonah, electric blanket and top-quality linen, its own en-suite bathroom (with separate bath and shower) and is reverse-cycle air-conditioned. On top of this there is a spectacular view of the lake. The kitchen at Blue Lake Lodge is modern and fully equipped, plus the lounge area has a huge open fireplace for warmth and comfort. Outside is a spacious sun deck, fully furnished naturally.
Parking is free, and there is plenty of luggage-storage space. Laundry facilities are also on hand, including dry cleaning! And here’s something of a treat: a well-stocked pantry. While it’s a self-catering venue, the owners have made sure there is a plentiful supply of food and drink on site so you won’t have to race off to a general store shortly after you arrive in order to cook something up.
There is wireless internet throughout the property, but you’ll really have an incentive to leave the online world behind with the two hundred acres of highlands around you. Trout fishing for beginners to experts is one option for starters, and there are plenty of bush walks to go on. A short drive takes you to Bothwell Golf Club, Waddamana Power Station Museum, Nant Distillery and the amazing work in progress that is The Wall In The Wilderness.
While you are staying at Blue Lake Lodge, you may like to feed the wallabies that turn up every day at the fence, imaginatively named ‘The Wallaby Bar’. There is also a Japanese garden on the premises, right next to Arthurs Terrace, so those who prefer not to go venturing further afield have plenty to enjoy in one place.
Situated on a lake, this lodge is within 3 mi (5 km) of Tea-Tree Bay Conservation Area, Arthurs Lake, and Great Lake Conservation Area. Morass Bay Conservation Area and Tasmanian Wilderness are also within 9 mi (15 km).
This smoke-free lodge features a restaurant, a bar/lounge, and concierge services. Free WiFi in public areas and free self parking are also provided. Other amenities include dry cleaning, laundry facilities, and a garden.
Limited housekeeping is available.
Beautiful spot right on the lake and completely secluded. Comfortable room. Rob was a great host and very talented in the kitchen. I even got some fishing in and managed to bag 2 small brown trout. Thanks for looking after us - we’ll be back!
Blue Lake Lodge is perfect for many reasons, as a retreat, a romantic getaway or for fishing chums who are mad fly fishing fanatics. Plenty of Brown Trout in Arthurs Lake on the property. Owners are world travelled and have thought of everything a guest wants.
