Devonport Serenity – Space for the Whole Family
Five bedrooms, a games room and an incredibly well equipped kitchen means that describing this property as ideal for a large family holiday is something of an understatement. Spacious, comfortable, near the ocean and with more outdoor activities on offer nearby than you can shake a stick at, any large, self-catering group need look no further.
Two of the bedrooms have a queen bed, two have a number of single beds and there is an alcove off the rumpus room which has more, so strictly speaking there are five bedrooms here, making it possible to sleep up to fourteen in twelve beds. There are also two bathrooms, and the smoke-free, pet-free, child friendly holiday home is air-conditioned and has a heat pump on both floors. You are staying in a light, spacious and well furnished property with attractive polished floorboards, complete with a lounge, dining area (which includes a child’s high chair), full kitchen, television with DVD player and free Foxtel, parking and, of course, free wireless internet.
Devonport Serenity also has a back deck which affords amazing views across Don Heads out towards the ocean, an attractive garden and a balcony. Guests’ needs have been anticipated: the place has everything from a games room with a ping-pong table, a pool table, and a collection of toys and games, through to a selection of films and a library of books. Bed linen is all provided, as are towels, a hair dryer, an iron, an ironing board and most importantly a washing machine, so no trips to the launderette when you’d rather be back with your guests.
The kitchen at Devonport Serenity is equipped with an oven, stove and grill, a microwave, a toaster, a fridge, various dishes and utensils, a dishwasher, and a partridge in a pear tree. All right, I made that last one up, but you would be hard-pressed to find fault with how well the owners have considered the needs of a large, self-catering group.
Only a couple of hundred metres away is Don Reserve, an amazing place to visit and featuring walking and cycling tracks. Devonport also has a new attraction called Splash, and aquatic centre and definitely a place to take the children. If you are planning a visit to Cradle Mountain, this is a good place to start, and if you are looking for other local activities, well there’s windsurfing, snorkelling, rafting, swimming, scuba diving, mountain biking, boogie-boarding, plus some intriguing caves to explore and firms offering eco-tours of the area.
This family-friendly Devonport vacation home is located by the sea, within 1 mi (2 km) of Devonport Regional Gallery, Bass Strait Maritime Centre, and Back Beach. Mersey Bluff and Tiagarra Aboriginal Museum are also within 1 mi (2 km).

A great home for our two families. Kids loved the games room. A nice walk to the beach. Coming from Qld, the house was well heated and bedding was great. Clean and well-appointed. Just what we needed for our short stay. Chris was friendly and quick to respond to our questions.
We can only say how accommodating Chris the owner was to us. So kind and generous. The house is a great base and also has so many activities within it for a family. It lives up to all the photographs expectations, very clean and comfortable, and we hope to return one day.
It was a huge house with a great view from the deck. It had everything we needed to keep our 2 year old occupied. He especially loved the box of toys downstairs and we loved playing a few games of pool at the same time. We will definitely stay again when we come back over. Can not recommend highly enough.
