The Crays Accommodation
Quite the home-from-home here, with all sorts of comforts in these fully equipped houses and holiday units, and not only are the views and surroundings pretty, but the location is great for the town centre and all the activities in the region as well
The Crays Accommodation consists of houses, apartments and a studio, with king and queen beds primarily, and bunk and sofa beds for additional guests. All come with the bedding prepared in advance, and there is plenty of space to move about in. Kitchens have hotplates, an electric frying pan, a fridge (some have a full-sized one), a microwave oven, cookware including cutlery and bowls, a hair dryer, ironing equipment, and they throw in some breakfast provisions for good measure. There are also electric blankets, bedside lamps, full-length mirrors and the properties have electric heating. A television with a DVD player plus a pillow menu complete the picture.
Other facilities available at The Crays Accommodation include a shared laundry area with coin-operated equipment, free wireless internet (available over most of the site), a covered outdoor relaxation area, complete with furniture, free covered parking, gas-powered barbecue equipment, also free of charge, and there is a phone which puts you in touch with reception. While pets other than service animals are not permitted, children are most welcome and it is possible to hire cribs from the proprietors.
The town, complete with ATMs, doctor’s clinic, pharmacy, post office, Strahan Visitor and Information Centre, hairdresser, service station and supermarket is only a short walk away.
There are plenty of things to do in the area, and the staff offer assistance with ticket and tour purchases. They organise their own boat trips with West Coast Yacht Charters on an amazing yacht called Stormbreaker – these cruises last up to twenty-three hours and include sleeping accommodation, as well as kayaking and fishing activities as part of the price. Sand dune tours, the West Coast Wilderness railway (a steam-hauled rack-and-pinion line into the mountains) and Australia’s longest running theatrical production ‘The Ship That Never Was’ are just a small sample of the host of things to get involved in while staying here.
Situated in Strahan, this apartment building is steps from Strahan Visitor Centre and Botanical Garden Reserve. Strahan Harbour and West Coast Reflections are also within 10 minutes.

We loved our stay at the Crays. Clean and Quiet with a luscious garden setting and all the comforts of home. We had overseas friends with us and they were impressed. We stayed for 3 days parked our car undercover and didn’t have to use it at all. Everything was within walking distance.
We arrived unannounced, late on a winter’s day, and were shown to a spacious and comfortable self-contained cabin just across the road from the water. Our accommodation ticked all the boxes. Roomy and immaculately clean. Kitchen would suit a longer stay, everything there for self-catering. Large table in dining area. Comfortable couch for relaxing. Lovely private verandah looking on to fernery. Suitable for couples or a family. Everything so very well organised.
My family of 12 stayed in 3 cottages at The Crays recently. LOVED the accommodation, Megs and Wendy couldn’t be more helpful to both adults and kids. Little touches like a large jug of milk in our fridges on arrival and exploring insects in the garden with the children were appreciated. Free barbecue and lots of chairs on the verandahs.
