Chalet-style accommodation with all the extra facilities of a well-run camp site, this is ideal for a family break or for bringing your own camper, caravan or tent, with Launceston a short drive away.
Cabins and Cottages include various bedding patterns, for example queen, single and bunk, so that between two and six can be accommodated. Some are pet-friendly, some have luxury features such as a spa bath, and one of the Superior Cottages is attractively built out of cedar. Bed linen, a bathroom with a shower and a toilet, an iron and ironing board, various items of kitchen equipment such as a hot plate, microwave, kettle and fridge, a television and a hair dryer (sometimes on request) are common to all, and most have a balcony.
If you push the boat out a little at Discovery Parks, Hadspen, you could have a gas stove and an oven, electric blankets, air conditioning, an open living place with a sofa, the aforementioned spa in addition to a separate shower and a full-size fridge, with an electric frying pan is available on request from the friendly staff, who also lend a hand with booking tickets and tours, luggage storage and any other queries you may have. Once a week your cabin or cottage has the loving attention of the housekeeping team.
There are accommodation options for those with mobility issues, and for guests with their own camper vans or tents, powered and unpowered sites. All who stay here have the use of the laundry equipment, the camp kitchen, the barbecue area, a children’s play area, an activity room, a family bathroom, a shop and a dump point for getting rid of your rubbish at the end of the day. Naturally, as this is the twenty-first century, there is free wireless internet to boot.
Less than a kilometre from Discovery Parks, Hadspen are the historic sites of Entally Estate, Carrick Inn, Archer’s Folly and Red Feather Inn. As Launceston is little more than ten kilometres away, Cataract Gorge is an absolute must if you have never seen it before, and other day trips that are possible from Hadspen include Tamar Island Wetlands, Bridestowe Lavender Farm and Tasmania Zoo, as well as a cruise on the Tamar River.
Located in Hadspen, this cabin is 1.4 mi (2.2 km) from Entally Estate and within 6 mi (10 km) of Tasmanian Copper & Metal Art Gallery and Country Club Tasmania. Cataract Gorge Reserve and Trevallyn Nature Recreation Area are also within 9 mi (15 km).
This cabin features laundry facilities, an arcade/game room, and express check-out. Self parking is free. Additionally, tour/ticket assistance, a garden, and barbecue grills are onsite.
All 38 cabins feature kitchenettes with refrigerators and microwaves, plus coffee makers and LCD TVs. Other amenities available to guests include showers, ironing boards, and free toiletries. Housekeeping is available on request.
The cabin had everything we needed, was comfortable and was very close to our main destination, which was Entally House (about a five minute drive away). Supermarket, newsagent, bottle shop nearby. The manager lady was very pleasant and helpful.
Spacious, comfortable accommodation. Great playground. Supermarket and petrol next door and only 10 min from Launceston.
