Cove Cottage
You have the feel of the original fishing shack this was converted from and a wide range of modern comforts inside, making this a great self-catering choice, whether for a couple or a large family, right next to the beach and at the foot of the Hazards mountains.
Four bedrooms, one of which is particularly suited to children, give a maximum guest count of six. The children’s room has two conventional beds and a bunk that can sleep up to three, and two of the other rooms have a shared sitting area from which you can see a lovely view of Mount Amos. All of the bedding is provided (with the exception of the porta-cot, which is available if you have a very young child with you), as are towels, and the master bedroom connects to the en-suite bathroom and directly onto the outdoor furnished deck area.
There is a laundry room, with a washing machine, an iron and an ironing board among its tools. The main feature of the interior is a large, open-plan living area with the kitchen at one end, a dining table adjacent and an L-shaped sofa, plus a separate one, at the terrace end. A flat-screen television is there for your entertainment, although through the large, glass sliding door you can get a far better view outside. Cove Cottage is on the peninsula between the Hazards mountains and the sea (just twenty metres away), so you really are staying in a beautiful setting.
What does the cook in the group have to play with? Well, the modern kitchen has a cooker, so there is both an oven and a set of hobs, and there is also a full-size refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a microwave, an electric kettle and a teapot, as well as coffee-making equipment. Cookware, utensils and dishes are also provided.
For those staying at here during the winter months of May to September, there is a wood fire, and if you are driving to the property then there is a good deal of parking space. The converted fishing cottage has a barbecue set and, just in the doorway, a space for dumping fishing or swimming gear so you don’t have to lug it all the way through the the cottage to store it.
Cove Cottage has the Wineglass Bay walking track just behind it, and Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre a short drive away, along with Coles Bay and Richardsons Beach. The area is rife with friendly wildlife, although you are politely requested not to feed any of the inquisitive possums, wallabies or kookaburras that you will almost certainly encounter. If you are completely new to this part of Tasmania, then the rule of thumb from this cottage is that north takes you further to civilisation (the cafes, restaurants, bars and shops around Great Oyster Bay are highly recommended) while south takes you further from it, and into a world of wild beauty you will never forget.
Situated in the mountains, this vacation home is within 2 mi (3 km) of Wineglass Bay, Richardsons Beach, and Coles Bay. Freycinet National Park and Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre are also within 3 mi (5 km).
Along with laundry facilities, this smoke-free vacation home has a garden and barbecue grills. Free WiFi in public areas and free self parking are also provided. Other amenities include a picnic area.
The vacation home features a washing machine and a kitchen with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Guests can appreciate conveniences like a dining area and a sitting area, and other amenities include free WiFi and a furnished balcony. Housekeeping is not available.
