Day 1 - Arrive and explore Launceston

Cataract Gorge is a piece of wilderness just 15 minutes walk from Launceston. Here you’ll find many attractions such as the world’s longest single span chairlift.

Day 2 - Explore Cradle Mountain

Tamar River stretches from the city of Launceston to the Bass Strait in northern Tasmania, but it is not a river. It’s actually a saline and tidal estuary.

Day 3 - Head to the Wild West

Day 4 - Explore Strahan (optional Gordon River Cruise)

Gordon River Cruises is an award winning wilderness experience in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

Day 5 Head to Hobart

Mt Field National Park is located just just 80 km from capital city Hobart. It is a home of Tasmania’s best know Russell Falls.

Day 6 - Explore Hobart

View Hobart from the Mt. Wellington lookout, far above the city. It is a spectacular view showcasing the area.

Day 7 - East Coast

Orford is a popular coastal township on part of the Great Eastern Drive. Go for a swim, take a walk along a beach, or visit a nearby winery the east coast is famous for.

Day 1 - Arrive and explore Launceston

Arrive Launceston and pick up car from Launceston Airport. Drive to City. Walks in Cataract Gorge which is 10 mins from the centre of town and be sure to explore Tamar valley (famous for produce and cool climate wine)

Day 2 - Explore Cradle Mountain

Drive along the west bank of Tamar River, then cut across northern Tasmania to the UNESCO World Heritage area of Cradle Mountain.

Day 3 - Head to the Wild West

Explore the many walks at Cradle Mountain National Park. Drive to the west coast village of Strahan. Stop at Henty Dunes and Zeehan Mining Museum on the way.

Day 4 - Explore Strahan (optional Gordon River Cruise)

Day 5 Head to Hobart

Traverse alpine region and drive through the old mining town of Queenstown and through to Lake St. Clair. Visit the ‘Wall in the Wilderness’ before stopping for lunch at the Derwent Bridge Hotel. Walk in the rainforest to experience ferns, tall trees and waterfalls at Russell Falls before following the Derwent Valley into Hobart.

Day 6 - Explore Hobart

Spend the day exploring Salamanca Place and Battery Point. If Saturday, Salamanca Market will be in full swing. Drive up Mt. Wellington for spectacular views over southern Tasmania. Optional self-drive to historic Richmond – 20 minutes from Hobart.

Day 7 - East Coast

Day 8 - Back to Launceston

Continue north of Bicheno along the Great Eastern Drive. Cut over the Elephant Pass and then through St. Marys and the Fingal Valley to join the Heritage Highway. Follow it to Launceston.

Drop off rental car at Launceston airport. Depart Launceston. Note: Can also depart Hobart airport.

Hi We would highly recommend Zoe and Her team as a Great place to go to organise a holiday to Tasmania. Our 7 day holiday was Great for the Whole 7days. Picked up Car at airport. Drove to Launceston and Zoe suggested places to go,and one place was Cataract Gorge, which was a fantastic spot. We traveled from there to Devonport, Then Cradle Mountain and Queenstown.
