If you’d really like to splash out, there’s the Honeymoon Spa, with its own private balcony with an outdoor setting and amazing views of Great Oyster Bay. As its name implies, it also has a large, corner spa bath in the en-suite bathroom. At the opposite end of the spectrum, there is the ultra-budget Dungeon Room, which still has all the comforts of a basic room albeit smaller and without a view.

All guests at Swansea Motor Inn have use of barbecue facilities, access to a children’s playground, free parking and free wireless internet. There are also laundry facilities and the non-smoking, pet-free motel is quite close to a number of shops, so picking up supplies won’t be a problem. Daily housekeeping is also provided. Breakfast packs are available from reception, which is staffed from eight in the morning until eight in the evening, with the possibility of late check-in if you phone ahead to arrange it.

As well as being able to view a wide range of wildlife including dolphins, whales and of course Tasmanian Devils, Swansea offers a lot of dining opportunities whether you prefer locally sourced seafood, steaks and other Tasmanian cuisine or if you are one for the international menu. Barkmill Bakery Cafe is recommended for breakfast, lunch or just a coffee, and there are several bars in the town. Cruises of the amazing Great Oyster Bay, the Heritage Centre Museum, clean beaches, hiking and cycling trips and more than the occasional place to do a bit of shopping and pick up a souvenir or two all make Swansea somewhere that caters for all tastes.
