Rosebank Cottage Collection
This is a great choice for a self-catering holiday, with a lot of living space, modern comfy beds (one of which is a four-poster no less!), and your cottage nestles in the sweet perfumes of an immaculately kept garden a short drive from Smithton or Stanley.
A queen-size bed, a spacious country garden, barbecue equipment, and the comfort of a wood-burning heater are some of the comforts of the cottages just outside Smithton and close to Stanley, and the options in Smithton town itself are also wood-heated and come with plenty of space for a large family. Top-quality linen, a bathroom with a shower (and some with a spa bath), plenty of comfortable furniture, and a large, flat-screen television can be found in each property, along with a fully-equipped kitchen so you have the use of a stove, oven, fridge, a good deal of workspace and all the utensils and cookware you could need. Some properties also have laundry facilities, and all have a pretty, romantic feel to the place. You just have to look at the main living area or kitchen to see what I mean.
Rosebank Cottage Collection’s central properties are near to good bistros, restaurants, takeaways and of course shops. The others are only about five to ten minutes away in the car, and all are excellent choices if you are looking for a base to explore the Stanley district.
Among the places worth visiting near to Rosebank Cottage Collection there is of course Tasmania’s famous Nut, an extinct volcanic plug where you can walk to the summit (or ride there in the chairlift) for absolutely spectacular panoramic views. Smithton is known for its dairy and vegetable farming, so local farmers’ markets are well worth exploring. Then there’s Tarkine Forest Adventures, the chance to take a boat trip up the enigmatic Arthur River, or you could head off on a 4-wheel-drive eco-tour of the rainforest and wild rivers of the South Arthur district.
Situated in Forest, this golf hotel is within 6 mi (10 km) of Circular Head Heritage Centre, Smithton Riverfront Park, and Smithton Country Club. Sawyer Bay and The Nut Chairlift Stanley are also within 12 mi (20 km).
