In addition to being just thirty minutes from Hobart, home of the famous Salamanca Market, Junction Motel is only about ten minutes from Salmon Ponds, which is a heritage hatchery in its original English-parkland setting of trees, hedges and lawns. There is also the paddock-to-plate food experience of the Agrarian Kitchen a similar distance from the motel. Other places of interest that can be reached in under an hour’s drive include the beautiful Mount Wellington, the waterfalls of Mount Field and, if you’d like to get up close with nature, there is Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary.
