The River View Upstairs Apartment has a separate bathroom and kitchen while the Garden View Ground Floor Apartment has an en-suite bathroom and a kitchenette, and both are furnished with a queen-size bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and a pillow top mattress. The former requires a minimum stay of two nights. Birchwood On The River has wireless internet, car parking, plenty of living space in the lounge-living room and laundry facilities (in the apartment with River View, available on request with Garden View).
The kitchen facilities include a stove top, microwave oven and refrigerator, as well as sundry cooking things like pots and pans, cutlery and plates, and you have the equipment for barbecuing in the garden. The non-smoking, pet-free (guide dogs excepted) apartments have digital television channels which you can view on the LCD set, and for a surcharge you can have a continental breakfast in the morning. There are blackout curtains, the use of an iron and ironing board, housekeeping is done daily the sofa can convert into a bed if that’s the way you prefer your sleeping arrangements.
Birchwood On The River is conveniently located for the town centre, including the shopping district, and is right opposite the shipping channel where you can see a local cruise liner passing every day (the Spirit of Tasmania). The property is also close to a number of walking and cycling routes, and if you prefer to have someone else set the itinerary, you are not far from where you can book ecotours. An hour and a half’s drive will even take you to Cradle Mountain, and much nearer (only about a minute by car, so not far on foot) is Bass Straight Maritime Centre. If you have a sweet tooth, how about a visit to The House Of Anvers Chocolate?
