Children and pets are welcome here at a 3.5-star caravan site which includes cabin accommodation, a view of the Devonport coast and the necessary utilities, with friendly staff on hand whenever you need them.
For those not bringing their own caravan, Abel Tasman Caravan Park has Standard Cabins which have a double bed, a kitchenette that includes a stove top, microwave oven, fridge and equipment for making tea and coffee, plus your own private bathroom with a shower.
A Deluxe Cabin has a queen bed, and if there are four of you then a Family Cabin comes with a double and a twin bunk bed, as well as an iron and ironing board. All cabins are for non-smokers, with free wireless internet and guests have the use of the communal facilities, which include barbecue equipment, laundry machines, a garden, a children’s play area, free self parking, a place to watch television and a front desk which is staffed from eight in the morning until six in the evening.
Naturally, there are all the facilities you would expect for visitors with a caravan in tow, and you can find a number of pitches if all you have with you is a tent.
Abel Tasman Caravan Park is in East Devonport, just under ten minutes’ drive from DPO Devonport Airport. Also a similar distance are Tiagarra Aboriginal Museum, Bass Straight Maritime Centre and Devonport Regional Gallery, while a quarter of an hour away on foot is Devonport Ferry Terminal. Venture a little further afield and there is a delight for the sweet-toothed among you in the form of House of Anvers chocolates in Latrobe, while in a suburb of Devonport itself is the Don River Railway, where steam trains run from Don Village to Coles Beach and back again during the high season.
Nestled on the beach, this East Devonport mobile home is within 1 mi (2 km) of Devonport Ferry Terminal and Devonport Regional Gallery. Bass Strait Maritime Centre and Home Hill are also within 3 mi (5 km).

Pleasant surprise. We thought we'd give this a go for part of our time in Tasmania. While passing through Devonport we stayed in one of their two bedroom mobile homes/demountable and it was great. Clean, comfortable, well equipped and really good value. We used it as a base to explore from Launceston to Burnie to cradle mountain. Would recommend it as a very viable alternative to hotel/motels.
Can't beat that service! We just finished a 4 night stay here and loved it! The guy running the caravan park was so helpful when our tent poles broke in some strong wind. He rang us to let us know and also went out of his way to fix our poles for us so we had somewhere to sleep!! We are so grateful!! The bathrooms are so clean also!
