BIG4 Ulverstone Holiday Park

The bees’ knees at Big4 Ulverstone Holiday Park is a Two-Bedroom Apartment, with a queen bed and a tri-bunk sleeping four (some sleep five), parking right outside your door, a bathroom with a shower and all the facilities of the Budget Cabin but with some a little more enhanced.

Guests in the fixed accommodation have a welcome pack of tea, milk and sugar waiting for their arrival, and one of the cabin configurations does away with bunk beds altogether and simply has two double beds for its four inhabitants.

For those of you bringing your own caravan or camper van to Big4 Ulverstone Holiday Park, there are powered and unpowered sites, likewise for guests who have their own tent. Twelve of the camper sites are drive-through, and there is water, sullage and a number of sites shaded by trees.

Two amenity blocks mean you can freshen up and there is an enormous camp kitchen at your disposal. There are laundry facilities, a television room, plenty of board games, a fire pit, pet-friendly accommodation options (enquire beforehand), numerous adaptations for wheelchair users.

When it comes to giving the children somewhere to let off steam, an inflatable jumping pillow (imagine a bouncy castle with no walls) and a play area can be found in the fenced park area, where children of all ages can choose between the toddlers’ play area, the skate park and playground or the more challenging Pump ‘n Jump track. Visit at the right time of the year and there is even an Easter-egg hunt organised. Five minutes away, across the road, is the beach!

If you venture a little further from the park, Ulverstone Visitor Information Centre is a mine of useful ideas, from the many excellent eateries to indoor and outdoor attractions such as the Gawler Gallery, Leven Canyon, Don River Railway (an excellent choice if you have children who are train buffs) and unique souvenirs at Under The Oak handmade gallery and gifts. The holiday park itself is a mere twenty minutes’ drive from DPO Devonport Airport.
