Boat Harbour Garden Cottages
Here you have an ideal base for exploring what is a particularly beautiful part of Tasmania, with the comforts of a self-contained, one-bedroom cabin to return to, complete with all you need for a self-catering stay and easily reached by car.
Number two of the four cabins on offer has one bedroom, with a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. This is a fully self-contained property and includes a kitchen, a lounge room and of course has all the necessary bed linens. Just outside you can relax in a sheltered sitting area and admire the beautiful hanging baskets and flower beds.
In fact the whole five acres on which Boat Harbour Garden Cottages are located is a combination of landscaped gardens and fruit trees. Feel free to help yourself to anything ripe enough to pick, in the secluded Boat Harbour, just a little away from the main road.
For those driving to and from the cottage, it only takes a couple of minutes to reach the world-famous Boat Harbour Beach. Here you will find clean waters and pure white sand, and you might catch a glimpse of some of the local seal population. For a more rugged beauty, five minutes is all it takes to get to Rocky Cape National Park. Here you can take your pick from a number of hiking tracks in the Tasmanian countryside or head to another beach, this time Sisters Beach.
There are of course so many other attractions in the north-west of Tasmania, so if you are using Boat Harbour Garden Cottages as a base, there is the extinct volcanic plug known as The Nut in Stanley, boat trips where you can also see the seals, this time in more numbers, vineyards, the famous rack-and-pinion, steam-hauled Wilderness Railway in Queenstown and Cradle Mountain. The list of activities is extensive, and you will certainly want to return for all you could not fit in the first time round.
Situated near the airport, this cottage is 1.7 mi (2.7 km) from Boat Harbour Beach and within 6 mi (10 km) of Rocky Cape National Park and Sisters Beach. Table Cape Tulip Farm and Table Cape and Lighthouse are also within 9 mi (15 km).
This cottage features laundry facilities, tour/ticket assistance, and a garden. Free self parking and a free manager’s reception are also provided. Other amenities include barbecue grills and a picnic area.
All accommodations are individually decorated and offer private yards and portable fans. Guests will find kitchens with refrigerators, stovetops, and microwaves. Housekeeping is not available.
