Day 1: Arrive in Hobart

Arrive in Hobart, where you’ll pick up your rental car at the airport. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city, wandering around the harbour front to watch the commercial fishing boats, or visit local tackle shops to collect your fishing gear and permits.

Day 2: Derwent River and Lake Pedder

Spend your morning fishing on the Derwent River, targeting brown trout, Atlantic salmon, and bream or choose to do a half day fishing charter from Hobart. Visit Wigstons Lures in New Norfolk to explore the iconic Tassie Devil Lure and take a tour of the Salmon Ponds, including the historical ponds and hatchery. In the afternoon, head to Lake Pedder for some excellent brown trout fishing amidst stunning wilderness.
