Itinerary
Day 1: Launceston to Corinna – Discovering the Rainforest
- Depart from Launceston and journey towards the Tarkine, stopping at the quaint town of Penguin for a brief respite.
- Explore Hellyer Gorge with a scenic walk, immersing yourself in the lush rainforest and its diverse flora.
- Visit the historic town of Waratah for lunch, followed by a trek to the enchanting Philosopher Falls, where you’ll be surrounded by ancient myrtle beech trees and the soothing sounds of cascading water.
- Arrive at Corinna Wilderness Experience, your tranquil retreat for the next three nights, nestled on the banks of the Pieman River.
Day 2: Exploring Savage and Whyte Rivers
- Begin your day with a journey to the Savage River, trekking through the rainforest and witnessing the region’s unique ecosystem.
- After lunch at Corinna, embark on an afternoon walk to the Whyte River, renowned for its Huon Pine trees and potential platypus sightings.
- Return to your accommodation for relaxation and dinner, reflecting on the day’s adventures amidst the serenity of the wilderness.
Day 3: Pieman River Cruise and Tarkine Coast

- Post-hike, travel to Tullah Lakeside Lodge, passing iconic landmarks like the Reece Dam and Whaleback Lookout.
- Spend your evening at Tullah, enjoying the lodge’s amenities and the serene backdrop of Lake Rosebery.
Day 5: Montezuma Falls and Return to Launceston
- Embark on a morning walk to Montezuma Falls, Tasmania’s tallest waterfall, experiencing its grandeur and natural beauty.
- The return journey to Launceston includes a stop in Sheffield, known for its vibrant murals and charming cafes.
- Conclude your Tarkine adventure as you arrive back in Launceston, carrying with you memories of a truly transformative wilderness experience.

- Daily guided walks curated to immerse you in the region’s unique landscape, flora and fauna, highlights including Mt Donaldson, Savage River, Tarkine north coast, Philosophers Falls and Montezuma Falls.
- Two talented, experienced, accredited and safety gear equipped guides to drive, care and cook for you throughout the tour.
- Return transport ex-Launceston, and all tour transfers in our comfortable 12-seater mini-coach with luggage trailer.
- 4 nights comfortable twin-share accommodation (3 at Corinna Wilderness Experience and 1 at Tullah Lakeside Lodge) (limited single supplements at additional cost), with ensuites if available and sustainably provided.
