You also get an espresso maker, laundry facilities (a washing machine, a dryer, an iron and an ironing board), free wireless internet as well as a cabled connection on a desk, two televisions (for the bedroom and lounge) and a hair dryer. Take a look in the kitchen and, besides a good selection of cutlery, dishes and cookware, you will find hot plates, an oven, a microwave and a dishwasher, with the two-bedroom apartment also boasting a toaster.

The apartments are gated and covered by twenty-four-hour security. You will have your own remote control for accessing the premises during the night. For guests staying long-term, their property is services every four days. All of the pet-free apartments are air-conditioned for your comfort.

On the premises themselves there is a cafe, an eighteen-hole mini-golf course and some lovely native gardens complete with water features. A cooked-to-order breakfast is available for an additional surcharge. As well as there being a number of walking tracks on the premises, you can hire bicycles here, and if you fancy a different cycling experience, you can even rent a tandem. If you have never tried one before, give it a go, as it’s quite something! For those looking for a venue for a business event, there is also a two-hundred-seater Function Centre.

Waterfront Apartments are only a few minutes’ drive from the terminal of the Spirit of Tasmania cruise ship and the centre of Devonport. Also not far off are Devonport Golf Club, if you fancy playing the full-size game, and Devonport Regional Gallery, along with a good selection of eateries, shops and watering holes. Devonport is a pleasant place to stroll around, and if you fancy something a little retro, head to the Don River Railway for a taste of what Tasmanian rail travel was like before it was axed in the late seventies, and on certain days of the year you can even travel behind a steam locomotive.
