The Strand

There is a supply of tea and coffee, as well as the tools for making yourself a cup of it, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, electric heating and off-street parking at this non-smoking, pet-free holiday home. There is a cot and high chair for those bringing a young child with them, an iron and ironing board, space for storing luggage, a desk and, while the building is two-storey, it is possible for a wheelchair user to access the bathroom and a path of travel has been assured in at least one part of the property.

In the spacious open-plan living area, there are tremendous views of Great Oyster Bay, as there are from other parts of The Strand such as the furnished balcony. Barbecue equipment, a picnic area and a garden are additions you will probably want to make use of when visiting during the hotter months, while the real fire, free wireless internet and the flat-screen television give you something to enjoy indoors, where there is a separate dining area.

With your own private beach to relax on, safe for swimming and great for fishing, guests might wish to stay put in The Strand and explore no further. However, the Coles Bay region is full of places to visit, such as Freycinet National Park, whose visitor centre is under ten minutes away by car, Muirs Beach, Freycinet Marine Farm and a wide range of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Around the bay you can come across opportunities for boat trips, plane charters, walking, cycling and wildlife photography. This is a part of Tasmania which many return to as there is so much to do that it cannot all be squeezed into one holiday.
