And now for something completely different. Fly to a remote, luxury camp where you will be one of no more than eight guests enjoying the remote beauty of the Tasmanian wilderness so far off the beaten track that the silence is audible, all the while in the capable hands of friendly, knowlegeable and experienced guides for the trip of a lifetime.
Five rooms accommodate up to eight guests, with shared bathroom facilities. Your room has a stovetop and free bottled water and is fitted with a balcony. Toiletries have been provided by the organisers.
The big attraction is the remoteness, as it is not possible to get to Southwest Wilderness Camp Tasmania by any walking track, which is why you are flown in to this exclusive spot in the middle of over four thousand square kilometres of Southwest National Park. The three-day experience includes gourmet Tasmanian fare (including local wines), a boat trip to Balmoral Beach and a visit to Port Davey’s white quartz cliffs and an ancient Aboriginal ochre cave. There is also the chance to go climbing to the peak of Mount Rugby (771 metres above sea level), or explore Huon pine forest. Alternatively you can just relax on the beach.
Southwest Wilderness Camp Tasmania is run by experienced staff, so whether it’s on the flight over or at any stage during the stay, they will be happy to point out any places of interest.
Located in Cambridge, this all-inclusive hotel is 2.4 mi (3.8 km) from Tasmania Golf Club and 2.8 mi (4.4 km) from Coal Valley Vineyard. Seven Mile Beach and Royal Hobart are also within 6 mi (10 km).
