A bathroom is part of every one of the various room and suite choices available, and the sleeping arrangements take the form of queen-size beds, with additional singles, double and bunk beds for some. For a small fee you can have access to the internet via a wireless network, and all rooms at Shearwater Resort have a kitchen that comes with at least two hotplates, a microwave oven and a fridge. Some have a dishwasher, a bar fridge and a couple more hotplates. There is also a hair-dryer, a direct-dial telephone, a television with a DVD player and Foxtel, and a balcony or patio.

Shearwater Resort is a family-friendly, pet-free resort and among the many things that will make your stay enjoyable are a nine-hole golf course, children’s playground, spa, sauna and both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. You can find a squash court, a billiard room, a barbecue area and there is a variety of equipment, sporting and otherwise, available for hire. There are even designated areas for smokers! A bistro restaurant and bar are available, so you can enjoy some of Tasmania’s finest cuisine (locally sourced ingredients are something they pride themselves on). Parking is available for free on the premises, and crib hire, luggage-storage and laundry facilities are also available.

Not only are you very close to the coast, but you are also only a short walk away from Aubrey Luck Reserve and Shearwater Park. A couple of minutes by car and you will find Port Sorell Jetty and Hawley Beach Park. Shearwater Resort is a good place to make your base if you fancy seeing some penguins at Lillico Beach or going for a hike in Cradle Mountain National Park. Other nearby attractions include wineries, art galleries, caves and waterfalls.
