Hazelcreek Cottages
As a base for exploring the Tamar Valley, this is ideal or you could sit back and enjoy the amazing lakeside beauty of one of these self-contained properties in the capable hands of your friendly hosts.
Your one-bedroom cottage has a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries and a hair dryers. A sofa bed can be arranged, bringing the maximum occupancy up to four. Cooking equipment includes an electric frying pan, a fridge, a microwave oven, various pots, pans, items of crockery and cutlery, plus the essential tea and coffee-making tools. A small dining table with chairs is included in the lovely cedar-panelled building, although you will probably prefer to make use of the furnished veranda, which also has a barbecue set.
Both of the Hazelcreek Cottages have a comfy living area in the main open-plan room of the house, and here you can relax on the sofa in front of the wall-mounted, flat-screen television. However, once again it’s the exterior which is more of a draw, with its fenced garden and view of the lake giving you an attractive and peaceful place to relax.
Laundry equipment, free parking space, luggage storage and free use of a cot if you have a small child with you are all included with this smoke-free, pet-free property. The owners are most helpful and are on hand if you need them.
When it comes time to stock up on provisions, the township of Exeter is close by (two minutes by car), where you can find supermarkets, a bakery, a cafe, a chemist’s and a selection of speciality shops. A little further afield there are several restaurants if you don’t fancy cooking for yourself.
The beautiful spring-fed lake which Hazelcreek Cottages overlook is visited by a great deal of birds, so the ornithologists among you will be right at home. There is also a good chance of seeing a platypus swimming around. In the Exeter region you can find the world-famous lavender farm, the wine producers of the Tamar Valley, reminders of the region’s gold-mining days in the form of Grubb Shaft Gold Mine Museum, cruises on the river and several beaches, with the city of Launceston less than half an hour’s drive away.
Situated on a lake, this cottage is within 9 mi (15 km) of Stoney Rise Vineyard, Bradys Lookout State Reserve, and Tamar Ridge. Mount Careless Regional Reserve and Winter Brook Vineyard are also within 9 mi (15 km).
A garden, barbecue grills, and a picnic area are available at this smoke-free cottage. Self parking is free.
All 2 accommodations feature kitchens with refrigerators, ovens, stovetops, and microwaves. Other amenities available to guests include furnished balconies or patios, dining areas, and flat-screen TVs. Housekeeping is not available.
