Bay View Cottages, Cabins & Strahan Wilderness Lodge

The choice is straightforward at Strahan Wilderness Lodge: you can have a queen room or a twin room. The rest is the same for all accommodation, in that you have a private ensuite bathroom, heating, electric blankets, towels and linen provided, free wireless internet, modern comfortable furnishings in your room, and all the guests have the use of the guest lounge. This has a television, a fridge, a microwave, and equipment for making tea and coffee. This is also where the complimentary continental breakfast is served in the morning. At no extra cost you can use the lodge’s gas barbecue equipment in the designated, covered area and parking is also free.

Strahan Wilderness Lodge has a picnic area and a garden which you just have to see to believe (seriously, you do wonder if the word ‘motel’ should be used for somewhere this beautiful). If you are travelling with children it is also possible to pay for an extra bed, and cribs are available too. Luggage storage and concierge are additionally available at this pet-free venue. There is a limited housekeeping service too. You can also go mountain biking on tracks which start on the property itself, and nearby you can rent bikes if you didn’t bring one with you.

Despite the remote appearance of the lodge, you are only a three-minute drive from Strahan Visitor Centre, and you can set off towards the Heritage Listed wilderness, or the town, or the cruise-embarkation point and whichever it is, you won’t take long to get there. Beaches, a golf course, West Coast Reflections – all of these are a short walk or drive away. As for the lodge itself, its surroundings look breathtaking in any season, so it is always a good time to visit.
