Two bedrooms and a view of Great Oyster Bay over the treetops, this elevated holiday home puts the Freycinet Peninsula, Coles Bay and Swansea all in easy reach, making it an ideal base for day trips or beach activities.
Sleeping space for five comes from a queen bed in one room and, in the second, a double and a triple bunk bed, with linens and electric blankets. There is a bath in the bathroom, as well as a shower, towels and a hair dryer. In the kitchen you have the use of a microwave oven, a stove top, a refrigerator, a toaster and an electric jug, as well as a good assortment of cutlery, crockery and cookware. Your laundry needs are met with a washing machine, trough and clothes line, and there is an efficient heating system for guests staying in the winter months.
Beachcomber is a non-smoking and pet-free property, with a passive solar design. There are sturdy canvas blinds so that you can make as much or as little use of natural light as the season offers. The holiday home has a casual, beach-type quality to its furnishings and the main living area has modern entertainments such as a television and a radio-CD player, the latter even featuring an iPod plug.
If your holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of Australia is not complete without that knife-like crease in your denims, you will be pleased to know that an iron and ironing board are also included, and don’t worry about living out of a suitcase as there is space for storing your luggage after you have unpacked. There is even a limited housekeeping service.
Out on Beachcomber’s deck area, with its view of the sea, there is a gas-fired barbecue set and some outdoor furniture – a table and six all-weather chairs. Parking is free, and if you are exploring the area by car then you can reach Freycinet National Park Visitor Centre, Muirs Beach and Coles Bay, as well as Freycinet Marine Farm, in under ten minutes. That said, they are all in walking distance too, and this is a wonderful place for a leisurely stroll.
Situated near the beach, this vacation home is steps from Nine Mile Beach and Richardsons Beach. Coles Bay Conservation Area and Sandpiper Beach are also within 2 mi (3 km).
